are not only a profession, they're
a passion for Preston E. Lindsay! Drawing
since he was 3 years old, "Lindsay" (as he is known professionally, and as he is
called by his friends) has been a professional Caricaturist
and free-lance artist for over 25 years. He has become
the premier caricaturist in Michigan, USA. His
philosophy is that every face is unique, interesting,
and has beauty.
Some of his clients have included: MacDonald's Restaurants, Coca-Cola
Bottling Co., Exxon Corp., Time Magazine, The Detroit Free Press,
The Michigan Chronicle, The Detroit Zoo, General Motors, Chrysler
Corp., Ford Motor Company, Seimens, and CBS Broadcasting, among
many others. He has also taught drawing and cartooning
as an enrichment class at many elementary schools.
Lindsay studied for 41/2 years, in an intense design program, to earn his
Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the College for Creative Studies,
in Michigan.
In addition to "caricaturing" and being a "Mac-addict"
(devoted Apple computer user), Lindsay enjoys and creates in
many different media: Cartooning, Mural Painting, Abstract Acrylic
Painting, Logo Design, Computer Graphics, Crafts, Paper Sculpture,
and "Unit" Origami, to name a few. In
2001 Lindsay traveled to Japan, where he discovered (and bought)
a variety of hand made "washi" paper to enhance his
origami creations.
Whether drawing "quickie"
caricatures at a party, or drawing a caricature portrait from
a photo, Lindsay always pays great attention to detail, achieves
a great likeness of his subjects, and incorporates his humorous
flair. For these and other reasons, Lindsay is considered
to be the "Cadillac"
of Caricature Artists!
